A terrible start, to a beautiful ending.

 I have been learning to use show not tell to make my narrative interesting.

to do this I have tried to have character dialogue, and describe what characters think and feel, This is a story I changed.

The Ride By Mesui, Tailah,  Jahkaya, Liam, Zoe

There were once two sisters who were not at all alike; they were different in every way.

The Older sister was on the more adventurous side, doing dangerous stunts, enjoying the sunlight, and Playing with her friends all day, never having a second thought about what she was doing. But the younger sister was quite the opposite,  spending her days isolating herself within the walls of her room, every day losing herself in books never wanting to see what was on the outside. 

One faithful morning 

The mother of these two had splendid news, “We're going to Rainbows End!” The eldest sister shouted with joy while the younger sister's face turned pale instantly “Are you joking? I can't go there!“ she shouted as sweat and tears trickled down her face. “oh don’t be a baby!“ the older sister exclaimed, she tightly gripped the younger sister's hands and dragged her outside to the car, “stop! Let me go!“ the younger sister shouted, their mother dismissed her words then pushed her in the car. As soon as they got there the older sister went straight to the nearest ride and begged to go on it “It's huge!“ she said “it looks rather unstable, are you sure it's safe?“ the younger sister whispered “don't judge a book by its cover!“ the older sister said with a grin.

It was only a mere two minutes before she was strapped in and ready to go, “have fun!” the mother shouts, she was twitchy and jumpy, her face said it all. The ride started and she looked confused, she thought the ride just spun her in circles for a handful of minutes but the ride rose off the floor and started swinging, at that moment her smile had faded as she realized she made a very big mistake. Her face went pale as she froze in place with nothing in her brain but the words “get me off” she closed her eyes and let out an ear-piercing shriek as she rose hundreds of feet off the air, up, down, left, right, it seemed to go for an endless amount of time, she drenched her clothes in tears as she screamed her sisters name the whole way through.

When the ride had ended she couldn't move, she was completely frozen in place, hair sticking up, clothes soaked in tears, and heart beating rapidly like African drums, I guess you could say there was a rhythm to it. She was frozen in place like a deer in headlights, not being able to lift a finger

The younger sister was also terrified, she looked as if she had been to war and survived, sweat ran down her fingertips as she grimaced at the sight of her sister, but still, even with pure terror in her heart, she hopped onto the ride, at that very moment the younger sister seemed like a whole different person, it looked as if she was being controlled by her sister due too how bold she was in that exact time.

When the younger sister hopped onto the ride she wrapped her arms around her sister and then comforted her as she started questioning her actions “ I can't believe you roped me into this,” she chuckled as the ride started moving. The older sister closed her eyes and a smile slowly started to form on her face, “hold on!” the older sister said, “oh I will!” the younger sister said as she tightly gripped her sisters tear soaked shirt.

The ride ended and the two sisters came off the ride traumatized, but happy, “ I guess you weren't such a wuss after all,”  the older sister said, “ yea… I guess so.” the younger sister agreed, They laughed the whole back to their mother, forming a new friendship.

 Here is a reading response I did in class this week.  I hope you find it interesting.

The text is about the water cycle.  And macroinvertebrates, 

and what can get in drains.  Scientists have been

examining macroinvertebrates in the water to see

how clean the water is.

This week I read a book about the water cycle. 

And about Toxic algae, and polluted waterways.  

    
It is mostly giving information about the water cycle. 

And I believe scientists are the reason in the text,  scientists are

always testing the water!  

When I was reading this book,  I found the book interesting

because of all the interesting words, I found Like Toxic algae,

macroinvertebrates,  intolerant species, Escherichia coli,

and cyanobacteria were quite tricky to read. 

This book is intelligent.

a normal special day.

 In class we are learning what it means to be healthy,  I learned that... 'Even though you are not sick,  doesn't mean you're healthy.'  Keep your body strong, and healthy, and emotionally and physically!

 Today,  our class was learning about staying healthy.  'Even though you're not sick, doesn't mean you're not healthy' We have been making a brian storm,  showing what Healthy could mean.  I am proud of my work because... It took forever to make,  and it looks nice! :)

Brian wanted a fire because It was warm and precious to him.

A huge Loud snapping Turtle.

            Brain watched a video of turtles.

5. What did Uncle Carter eat that made Brian queasy to watch?

Brain had seen his Uncle Carter cracking an egg into a glass cup 

Filled with milk.  Brain had seen his Uncle Carter drink Raw eggs once,  Just once.

6. What do turtle eggs look like?

They look like a bunch of ping pong balls.

7. How many eggs did Brian eat?

Brain had eaten 6 Raw eggs. 

8. A good title for Chapter 9 could be what

           Brightness.

That Night

Introduction: In class, we do a 'COLD TASK' to find out what we already know. our cold task was on narrative writing. This is a snapshot of what I can do in 30 mins by myself.

At the end of school,  I walked home by myself in the middle of a crowded street,   full of massive or tiny cars.  It was kinda scary for me cause it was my first time!  Walking home.  even though I love to walk I was still terrified,  worried I might get run over!  like the chicken crossing the road and getting run over!  My brain was trying to tell me to go back,  But my heart was telling me to go and not be afraid to do things.  So as I crossed the road I saw my dad's truck parked up by east school so I ran over to him and said “Dad, dad! I did it, I did it!”  I shouted.  “Good Job Hunny!,  You can walk from now on,”  said, dad.  But do you know how I felt when he said that…  I was too speechless to talk.   I thought that was it?  So now on I walk… and walk… and walk.     We drove back home and it was 8;00 at night… I couldn’t go to sleep because of what my dad had said to me,  His voice would be stuck in my brain all night long.  “Good job Hunny…”  “Good job Hunny…”  “what a good girl you….”  “AAAHHH!” I screamed.  My dad rushed into the room worried, anxious, desperate- which of these was my dad feeling?  “Are you alright Hunny buns?” said dad.

 In class our logic to forgiveness.  We are learning why it is important.  We read about Ngakuku and how forgiveness stopped ongoing war. Here is my reading response.

Surviving the island.

Introduction: no wifi.

Emerging from the dense clouds, me and the girls had wanted to go to South Island.  I was thinking of going on a plane, I was looking forward to looking at the mesmerizing sea and the shiny, delicate dolphins in the sea.  I have been on a plane before,  But that was 7 years ago.

Main event- savings (gathering our money)

My friends and I had saved up a lot of money.   We love to go on trips with each other!  We love to go on trips with each other because we're friends! Best friends.  We have been friends since we were 5 years old.  And I don't want to lose them...  They were the only friends I had.  Especially monique

Main event- arriving at the airport (a long time to wait…)

My confident friend Calaise went to get the tickets for us. We sat in the comfiest chairs to wait. She took absolutely 3 hours just to get our tickets. The line was like a traffic line!! 

I was too… speechless to talk,  It was like my mind was rolling out of this world.  But in a different way? It felt like I was gonna faint.  My head was crazy, dizzy running round and round.  My friend calaise had finally bought our tickets,  she had come back and saw me and the girls asleep “I got the tickets! – guys?” Calaise confusedly said.
